PALLADIUM
What is palladium? Palladium is part of the platinum family. It is harder than platinum, which means it's more durable to wear. Since it doesn't have any alloys, that means it is naturally hypo-allergenic. It is 40% lighter than platinum due to its lower density, which makes a great option for earrings. It doesn't tarnish, yellow or become dull and requires no plating to make it extra white in appearance.
It's rare. Mined in only a few regions worldwide, palladium is as rare as platinum and many times rarer than gold. Don Rand Designs prides itself in purchasing palladium mined right here in Big Sky Country. It's identifiable by the marking "Pd". Just as "K" indicates karat gold, "Pt" or "PLAT" are symbols of platinum, and sterling silver is stamped "925", the "Pd" symbol marks palladium's authenticity.
